Hi, I’m Joy Herbst.
I work with women of all backgrounds, ages, and experiences to support them on their path for empowerment through embodiment & connection to sacred living.
Joy Herbst is a dancer, choreographer, holistic health practitioner, and family nurse practitioner dedicated to helping women cultivate wellness, empowerment, and self-awareness. Her journey into integrative health and functional medicine began through her own healing process and her desire to support her family’s health.
With a lifelong background in ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, and tribal fusion belly dance, Joy became Connecticut’s first certified teacher of American Tribal Style® belly dance and a Sister Studio of Fat Chance Belly Dance®. Her studies in Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, and energetic healing inspired her to create Dancing the 5 Elements™, an intuitive movement practice that combines dance, breathwork, meditation, and guided movement to support healing and transformation.
Joy is a certified family nurse practitioner, coach, Ayurveda lifestyle counselor, Yoga of Recovery counselor, and 500-hour registered yoga teacher. Drawing on experience in women’s health, functional medicine, recovery, and holistic wellness, she offers coaching, movement practices, and workshops centered on the Sacred Feminine, helping women reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength, and capacity for healing.

My Approach
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. I developed the skills to be the woman I needed when I was struggling.
… struggling to find balance and joy in your life due to overwhelm of work, motherhood, life's demands.
… dealing with frustrating health problems that left me depleted and perplexed.
… fighting daily battles with anxiety, depression, & fatigue, and often drinking alcohol to soothe.
… not sleeping well, and feeling sluggish, heavy.
If you are ready to use multiple tools to improve your overall health, and crave intentional meaning or sacred intention in your life, I would love to speak with you about how I can support you on your path.
The journey to health and well-being for women at mid-life can be challenging. Often, the focus is too much on medications and short appointments that don't fully address women's issues. By looking at a woman's lifestyle through integrative healing methods, she can take charge of her life.
Simple ideas
In my practice, I combine Western and integrative medicine, along with the energies of the Sacred Feminine and body-centered practices. Together, we create a supportive environment for you to feel healthy and happy.
Lasting impact
Sacred lifestyle medicine takes into account your habits, deepest desires, and how we can create a personalized health plan that is thorough and compassionate.
